Humberside Fire and Rescue, Humberside Police and Fit Mums donate approximately 300 sanitary items in aid of The Red Box Project.

As part of this year’s celebrations for International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS), Humberside Police and Fit Mums donated sanitary items in aid of The Red Box Project which aims to ensure that no young person misses school during their period. Over the course of the day, approximately 300 sanitary items were collected at the Fire Service Headquarters in Hull. The initiative has also been supported in Grimsby by Watch Manager Lowden at Peaks Lane Fire Station.

Collecting on behalf of the Red Box Project Ann Clarkson from Preston Road Women’s Centre said:

“Preston Road Women’s Centre works with thousands of women and girls every year. We are always grateful to receive donations of sanitary products”
