    Bogus caller alert

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has had reports of companies receiving bogus calls from people pretending to be associated with the Fire Service, trying to sell them advertising space in publications.

    Residents urged to cook safely

    In a bid to reduce cooking related fires, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to think about safety in the kitchen. Cooking fires are the most common cause of house fires in the Humberside area and throughout January 2013 crews attended 34 house fires,over half of which were cooking related.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service asks community to nominate their local hero

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is asking members of the public to nominate their local hero. The winner will be chosen by public vote and will be honoured at the Service’s fifth annual Community Awards on Thursday 26 September.


Scunthorpe Fire Station, established in 1963, is also the North Lincolnshire CPU headquarters. It is crewed by fulltime firefighters. The station covers Scunthorpe and surrouding villages and has TATA Steel within its station area. There are several housing estates in the area as well as a large amount of industry and various open sources of water. The station area also covers a stretch of the M180 motorway. Scunthorpe Hospital is located within the staiton area.
