    Starting in April, firefighters from Peaks Lane Fire Station, Grimsby, will take part in a first responder trial in partnership with the charity L.I.V.E.S and East Midland Ambulance Service.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has had reports of companies receiving bogus calls from people pretending to be associated with the Fire Service, trying to sell them advertising space in publications.

    Residents urged to cook safely

    In a bid to reduce cooking related fires, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to think about safety in the kitchen. Cooking fires are the most common cause of house fires in the Humberside area and throughout January 2013 crews attended 34 house fires,over half of which were cooking related.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is asking members of the public to nominate their local hero. The winner will be chosen by public vote and will be honoured at the Service’s fifth annual Community Awards on Thursday 26 September.

About

Immingham East Fire Station is the newest fire station in the Humberside area, established in 2002. It is crewed by fulltime firefighters. It covers the eastern side of Immingham and surrounding villages, and is an area of heavy industry including a power station and petrochemical plants. It also covers Immingham port. It is bordered to the east by the River Humber.
