    Residents urged to cook safely

    In a bid to reduce cooking related fires, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to think about safety in the kitchen. Cooking fires are the most common cause of house fires in the Humberside area and throughout January 2013 crews attended 34 house fires,over half of which were cooking related.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is asking members of the public to nominate their local hero. The winner will be chosen by public vote and will be honoured at the Service’s fifth annual Community Awards on Thursday 26 September.


Cleethorpes Fire Station was established in 1939 and was extended in 1968. It is the easternmost station on the south bank and is crewed by on-call firefighters. The area has a theme park, a zoo and a Discovery Centre as well as various holiday parks.
