    Emergency First Responder scheme rolls out

    The Ark Project - flood preparation and response centre

    The effect of severe weather and flooding has become a major feature for the Humber region over the past ten years. It is anticipated that this will only worsen over the coming decades. The tidal surge of December 2013, which first affected the East Yorkshire coast, was the highest ever recorded tide level in the Humber estuary and led to around 1,100 properties and hundreds of businesses flooding in the area.

    Residents urged to cook safely

    In a bid to reduce cooking related fires, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to think about safety in the kitchen. Cooking fires are the most common cause of house fires in the Humberside area and throughout January 2013 crews attended 34 house fires,over half of which were cooking related.

    Wheelie bin safety warning for residents

    In a bid to prevent people becoming the victim of a deliberate fire, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to be more vigilant when leaving out wheelie bins for collection.

Snaith Fire Station, established in 1960, serves the town and surrounding areas. Situated just to the north of the M62 motorway, the station is Humberside’s western-most and is crewed by on-call firefighters.
