    Retained firefighters from Pocklington Fire Station have recently trained to act as first responders in medical emergencies. The six month trial, in partnership with Yorkshire Ambulance Service, will run until September 2013.

    In a bid to reduce cooking related fires, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to think about safety in the kitchen. Cooking fires are the most common cause of house fires in the Humberside area and throughout January 2013 crews attended 34 house fires,over half of which were cooking related.

    Wheelie bin safety warning for residents

    In a bid to prevent people becoming the victim of a deliberate fire, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to be more vigilant when leaving out wheelie bins for collection.


Brough Fire Station covers Brough and surrounding villages and has 19 on-call firefighters. It is based within the grounds of British Aerospace and crewed by personnel who work there. The station area covers the busy A63 dual carriageway and part of the M62 motorway that runs through it. The southern boundary of the station area is bordered by the River Humber.
