The Lifestyle Challenge was set up by Humberside Police and is about building relationships with young people in communities. Humberside police promote positive lifestyles for youngsters to encourage them to have the confidence to get involved in their local communities and also feeling comfortable talking to our officers.

The Helping Hands group from All Saints School in Hessle asked Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to find out more about the role of a firefighter. As well as interviewing staff about the role, the group had an opportunity to take part in the training our firefighters do.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service are delighted that young people from All Saints School in Hessle have had an opportunity to spend time with us to discover about what it means to be a firefighter. Opportunities such as this are encouraging to see and support, as we may engage and inspire young people, especially the young women in the group to think about becoming firefighters. These opportunities promote Humberside Fire and Rescue Service as being positive about gender equality and encouraging young people, especially young women, into the workforce of the future.
