Today we welcome Chief Superintendent Christine Wilson, who has joined the Service as a temporary Director for a period of 12 months.

Reporting to Kevin Wilson, Executive Director of Service Support, Christine will take up a role within the Corporate Management Team and will be responsible for Operational Training and overseeing Service Performance.

Her role at Humberside Police was as South Bank Commander, which is now being covered by Chief Superintendent Darren Downs. Chris Philpott, who joined the force in 2017 and whose previous role was at KCOM, will become the Head of the Command Hub.

Chief Fire Officer Chris Blacksell said: "We’re always looking at ways to do things differently to make sure that we’re constantly improving and one way of doing this is to learn from similar organisations. Although the Police and Fire are different services, we do have much in common in the way we both work to protect the public. We are really looking forward to having Chief Superintendent Wilson on board and to seeing what Christine will bring to the role."

Humberside Police Chief Constable Lee Freeman said: "We’ve seen our partnership with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service go from strength to strength over the past year and this means that the service we can provide to the public is more joined up than ever. Some of the ways we’ve worked together for more efficient and effective services includes shared fleet management and estates functions. We’re currently looking at ways to provide more convenient shared points of contact for the public in our communities."
