Governance and Standards Committee
Responsibility for dealing with concerns that a Member of Humberside Fire Authority may have breached the Fire Authority's Member Code of Conduct will be considered by the Governance and Standards Committee. Before May 2008 such concerns or complaints were made to the Standards Board for England.
The Governance and Standards Committee comprises four Independent Members appointed by the Fire Authority and at least one Member nominated by each of the political groups. The current composition is:
4 Elected Members:- Councillor Patricia Ellis (Liberal Democrat)
- Councillor Nadine Fudge (Labour)
- Councillor David Hornby (Conservative)
- Councillor John Whittle (Independent)
- Mr Graham Barnett
- Mrs Joyce Clarke
- Mr David Hughes
- Mr John Jepson
The Constitution of the Humberside Fire Authority sets out the role of the Committee and the role of Members. Click here for a direct link to the relevant pages.
The Governance and Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a Member. It can not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members' Code of Conduct. If you want to make a complaint, it must be about why you think a Member has not followed the Members' Code of Conduct.
