Our Statutory Duties - Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
As part of the Government’s commitment to reduce death, injury and damage caused by fire, fire safety law has been changed as a result of the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, which came into force in 2006. The Fire Safety Order applies in England and Wales; Northern Ireland and Scotland have their own laws. Humberside Fire & Rescue Service is responsible for enforcing the Order in most premises in the Humberside area. Inspections of those premises that present the highest risk to the community will be completed following a risk-based inspection programme.
